COACH DAVID'S TIP

The happiest people are those with goals so, as we get ready to enter a New Year, this is a good time to think about and set them.

Whether it's a reasonable finish time for the LA Marathon or additional races you want to do in the future (just not too many - figure you can only do one marathon every four months and have enough time to be fully recovered and rebuild for the next). Studies show those who write goals down and tell others have a far greater likelihood of completing them, compared to those who only think the goals. So write them down and share them!

Goals need to start with gratitude. Be grateful for anything and build from there.  A goal built from negativity will never become positive.

Dream Big.  The skies the limit.  Open your imagination to all possibilities.  You may not hit the stars, but you may touch the sky.

Plan a path. Figure out the steps to get yourself to your goal.

Execute. Drop all fears and go for it!

As always, keep it fun, and enjoy where your life takes you in 2025.

On behalf of the LA Road Runners, the Los Angeles Marathon, and the McCourt Foundation, we wish you a wonderful holiday season!

Have an inspired workout,

David Levine
